Isabella Streffen conducts experiments in criticism, the slippery territories of love, and the politics and poetics of perception through objects, encounters and texts. In pursuit of these she has illuminated Hadrian’s Wall from end-to-end, flown prototype drones inside the Library of Congress, camouflaged tourists in Monet’s garden, chased vampires in the Palais Garnier, followed Sophie Calle to Venice, performed in cabaret en unicorne, transformed apples into gold, taxonomised her desires and fallen in love with a bot. She is currently working on a book about kissing, and an exhibition of artists love gifts.
